Enesco was founded in 1958 in Itasca, IL by its first President, Louis R. "Bob" Miller, Jr., as the import division of N. Shure Company, one of the largest and oldest general merchandise catalog companies. Following N. Shure's sale to Butler Brothers, the import division reorganized as Enesco Corporation, formed from the phonic spellings of the prior parent company's name initials - N.S.Co.  Enesco is best known for its 25 year relationship with Precious Moments creators.  Enesco has enjoyed a long successful business with soaring sales throughout the '70s, '80s, and '90s until its peak in 1997.  They have been through many mergers and acquisitions and today they have over 65 brands and 35 entertainment licenses represented in their products.  As of this writing, we believe they are owned by Balmoral Funds, a Los Angeles, CA based private equity fund which acquired Enesco, LLC in 2015.  Today they continue selling their very popular collections including: Snow Babies, Harry Potter, Disney Traditions, Growing Up Girls, Department 56 and many others.
