The Home Beautiful brand is a member of the Mikasa family that includes gifts and decorative accessories for the home.  It was created in the 1970's, much like the Studio Nova line, created for a younger generation.  Home Beautiful, which appealed to those who wanted durability and affordability reflected the taste of the consumer who wanted a broad selection of styles and has remained a popular brand for Mikasa. In September of 2000 it was announced that Verrerie Cristallerie d'Arques, a French company based in Paris and a unit of J.G. Durand Industries had purchased Mikasa.   Eight years later, in June 2008, Lifetime Brands, Inc., a nationally branded kitchenware, tabletop and home décor products company announced it had acquired Mikasa, Inc. but would continue to operate under the Mikasa name.  As of this writing, they still own Mikasa and its four brands: Mikasa, Christopher Stewart, Home Beautiful and Studio Nova.
