McKee's first two Prescut patterns were Aztec and Toltec, and Toltec is the more intricate of the two.

A dense, satisfying composition of pinwheels, stars, and cane catches light with surprising richness in pressed milk glass. Patented in 1904 as an affordable alternative to fine cut crystal, the Prescut line gave the American table something beautiful without the cost of hand-cut glass.

Worth noting for collectors: Kemple Glass reproduced Toltec in milk glass after purchasing McKee's molds in 1945, and Wheaton Glass produced another reproduction in the 1970s. The impressed “McK” mark on this piece helps narrow it toward the original McKee production, though we encourage reviewing all photos carefully to draw your own conclusion.
