Ohio Art Company was founded by Henry Winzeler in 1908, in Archbold, Ohio. Originally making metal picture framed, in 1917, they began manufacturing toys. Perhaps they are best known for the Etch A Sketch, developed in the late 1950's by André Cassagnes. In 2016, they sold the Etch A Sketch and Doodle Sketch brands to Canada-based Spin Master. They continue to make nostalgic metal toys, however, they've chosen to concentrate on metal lithographic components as their primary business.
