- Details: This is an original presidential campaign button from the 1976 campaign when Jimmy Carter was running for President and Walter Mondale was his Vice Presidential running mate. These are old factory stock that were never used. This was a successful campaign, Jimmy Carter won over Republican Gerald Ford. Carter became our 39th President on January 20, 1977. It is Guaranteed Original, perfect, uncirculated condition.
