Details: These Christmas coffee mugs are highly collectible designs from Miyazaki Hayao. They are part of the Miyazaki Create Christmas Village collection from Sanyei and these are in perfect condition. One mug features a row of houses all decorated for Christmas. The other mug shows a family returning from Christmas shopping with gifts. They are marked: "Miyazaki Create" on the side and "Sanyei, Made in China", on the bottom. More about Miyazaki and Sanyei below. A great addition to your holiday mug collection. Perfect gift for a Miyazaki fan. Miyazaki Hayao is aninfluential Japanese illustrator and anime director who first received critical and popular acclaim for his blockbuster animated movie, Princess Mononoke (1997). Prior to this, he had launched Studio Ghilbi with Isao Takahata, which continues to have a strong presence in the animation industry, and has expanded the product line, including ceramics, (now owned by Nippon).
Sanyei Corporation was established in 1961 by merging three companies. Originally called Sanyei Boeki, in 1971 they changed the name to Sanyei Corporation.
