  • Pattern: Badcock & More Delivery Truck Commemorative Figurine
  • Made in China
  • Not Vintage: 2004
  • Details:  This figurine is part of a commemorative collection from Badcock featuring all their delivery trucks for the last 100 years.  These trucks were used by "route salesmen" to make deliveries around town, starting with a horse-drawn carriage, all the way to these more modern trucks.  This truck reads:  "Badcock & More Home Furniture".   There was a rubber stamp on the bottom that read:  "1904 -2004 Badcock 100 years of Customer Satisfaction", however, it's missing on this truck.  This piece is very heavy for its size, it would actually make a great bookend!  This is a collectible piece of advertisement.  Great piece of American history, ingenuity and memorabilia. There are a couple of condition issues on this one, please see "Condition" below.  Badcock's trucks changed through the years, we carry two other Badcock delivery truck styles, see pictures.
  • Material:  Resin
  • Dimension:  7.0 inches Long, 3.75 inches Wide, 3.5 inches Tall (all measurements include the base)
  • Condition:  Used.  Good Condition.  There is a round chip on the side of this truck exposing the resin. May be remedied with a dab of brass color paint.  Also, the rubber stamp on the bottom is missing, otherwise there are no other issues on this piece except as acceptable due to age/use/wear.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are USED items, they are not new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear, and imperfections.
The W. S. Badcock Corp. was founded by Henry Stanhope Badcock in Mulberry, Florida in 1904.  In 1920 Henry's son Wogan Stanhope Badcock, Jr bought the store.  They struggled during the great depression but they pressed on through consignment at various stores in the area and using "route salesmen", who would use small trucks, travelling designated routes, to sell the Badcock merchandise.  Wogan also started offering credit to customers that could not afford to pay in full.  These sales tactics helped them survive the depression.  In 1966 they were able to expand outside of Florida to Georgia, later to South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Tennessee.  In 1999 they updated their corporate image, from Furniture and Appliances added "and more" and the logo and stores brought a whole new look and design.  Today, they are in 8 states:  Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia and continue to offer credit to their clients.
