- Pattern: Vintage Figurine, Boy with Love Letter, Arnart 5th Avenue Collectible Figurine, Hand Painted Figurine, Vintage Decor, (Discontinued)
- Vintage: 1960's
- Made in Japan
- Details: This is such a cute figurine from Arnart 5th Avenue Imports, perfect for Valentine's Day. The figurine is of a boy wearing a hat, holding an envelope sealed with a heart. He is standing by a mailbox, as if about to mail this love letter. It is hand painted, very well done. It is in great vintage condition, the boy has all his tiny fingers well depicted, the face is detailed and even the little lady bug on the mailbox is well detailed. The bottom is stamped with the Arnart logo that was originally used from 1957 to 1987, however, after some research, we believe these figurines were introduced in the US around 1965. It is marked on the bottom: "Arnart/5th Avenue, Hand Painted, 11/548". From research, we understand the numbers stamped sometimes signify the pieces belong to an entire group of figurines, or collection. These and other "Hummel Look-A-Likes" were knockoffs from the original Hummels, but over time they have become collectibles in their own right. If you collect these figurines, we hope this is a great find. Perfect gift for Valentine's Day or a gift for a loved one far away.

Arnart Imports Inc., is still in operation (as of this writing) and is currently located in 230 Fifth Avenue, New York. The company specializes in porcelain gifts and decorative accessories. First registered trade mark is the Crown and A’s mark registered April 30, 1953. However, we have read that in 1957 they changed their name to "5th Avenue" after securing US based offices, and stopped using a printed stamped 'made in Japan' pottery mark, opting instead for a removable 'made in Japan' sticker. If that is correct, this figurine would be post 1957 but still using the stamp vs the sticker.
