- Pattern: Vintage Collectible State Plate, Nevada, The Silver State
- Made in Newell, West Virginia, USA
- Vintage: 1953
- Details: This plate is part of a Souvenir State Plate Collection from Homer Laughlin. This plate has a beautiful emerald green border with gold filigree all over. It has the name "Nevada" written in an old fashioned font and underneath "The Silver State". This is one of Nevada's nicknames and dates back to 1859 when silver was first discovered in the state, coincidently gold was also discovered there in 1859, this later led to a migration boom that took over the region. The top center of the plate shows the Nevada state flag, the state flower "Sagebrush" and towards the bottom right the state bird, the Mountain Bluebird. The rest are points of interest in that state. The back is stamped: with the Homer Laughlin logo, interestingly, this one does not have the Laughlin name, just their logo, and it reads: "Nautilus, Made in U.S.A., L53N5". This is a great addition to a state plate collection. Great gift for someone moving to the state of Nevada or a birthday gift for someone born in that state. Or collect them for yourself for states you've visited or lived in. We also carry: New Mexico, North Carolina, Maine, Oregon and Virginia.
