- Details: This plate is part of a Souvenir State Plate Collection from Homer Laughlin. This plate has a beautiful emerald green border with gold filigree. It has the name "Maine" written in an old fashioned font and underneath "The Pine Tree State". This is one of Maine's nicknames given because of the extensive pine forests that covered the state. The top center of the plate shows the Maine state flag, the state flower which is not a flower at all, the "White Pine Cone". The White Pine is considered to be the largest conifer in the northeastern United States and some of the tallest trees in eastern North America grew in Maine. White Pine played an important part in the history of Maine and is recognized in their history. On the right side is the state bird, the "Black Capped Chickadee". The rest are points of interest in that state. The back has the Homer Laughlin stamp, interestingly, this one does not have the Laughlin name, just their stamp, and it reads: "Nautilus, Made in U.S.A., K53N5". This is a great addition to a state plate collection. Great gift for someone moving to the state of Maine or a birthday gift for someone born in that state. Many people collect these from the states they've visited or lived in. We also carry: Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon and Virginia.

- Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Condition. There is a little paint on the white margin, front of the plate. The back has some manufacturing defects and gold paint marks. These were souvenir plates and not considered high quality, they are really in great condition considering their age. There may be other issues as acceptable due to age/use/wear. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns. Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are not new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
