- Details: This is a really large (and heavy!) bean pot made by the McCoy Pottery. These McCoy pieces are highly collectible and they are work horses around the kitchen. The stamp on this pot dates this piece from between 1968 to 1974. In 1967, Mount Clemens Pottery Company purchased the Nelson McCoy pottery and by 1968 they had changed the McCoy marks However, in 1974 Lancaster Colony Corporation (coincidently the owner of Indiana Glass) purchased the McCoy pottery and started reverting the McCoy marks back to the marks of the 1940's. So there was a period of about 20 years when this mark was used. The stamp also includes the number 342 which is the model number. There are several other bean pots made by McCoy, so if you're a collector, or looking for specific piece, always look for the model number. This piece is missing the lid, so we like to use it for decor rather than storage. If your pot broke and you've been left with only a lid, pay special attention to the model number so you're sure your lid fits this pot. We have seen this used to display dried flowers, silk leaves, rolling pins, kitchen utensils, all kinds of uses for this pretty pot. Perfect for a country or farmhouse, or Fall decor.
