Mitterteich has been making porcelain in Bavaria since 1887, and the Green Leaves pattern represents the house at its most restrained.

  • Maker: Mitterteich
  • Pattern: Green Leaves
  • Materials: Porcelain, ribbed melon form, gold rim, handle, and foot
  • Origin: Bavaria, Germany
  • Era: Vintage, 1945–1960
  • Dimensions: 4.75" tall, 3" diameter at widest; holds 14 oz
  • Condition: Excellent condition — no cracks, chips, or scratches; appears barely used. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Two sprigs of green leaves on a thin branch repeat on both sides, against porcelain ribbed lengthwise in the melon form typical of the Victorian-influenced shapes Mitterteich favored. Backstamped “Mitterteich Bavaria, Green Leaves, Germany 018.” Hand washing strongly recommended.

An elegant, understated piece for a formal breakfast tray or a shelf of Bavarian porcelain.

Mitterteich's restraint set it apart from more ornately decorated Bavarian houses of the same era, and the Green Leaves pattern is a clear example of that quieter design philosophy.

A thoughtful gift for the European porcelain collector or anyone who appreciates restraint as a design choice.
