- Pattern: Vintage Bread & Butter Plates, Silver Overlay Roman or Greek Figures, Set of 5
- Vintage: 1900's - 1930's
- Details: Silver overlay has been loved since 1889 when Oscar Pierre Erard of England, developed the method of electroplating silver on glass and porcelain. Manufacturing started in the USA in 1893 when John H. Scharling of New Jersey developed his own method. Unfortunately the Great Depression caused many glass companies to go out of business, others moved to cheaper, more affordable glassware, not many of these pieces can be found that were made after the mid-1930s. These plates are a rare find, this stunning thick border with the various Roman or Greek figures was not listed in any of the archived pattern sources we reviewed. This size, almost 7 inches, works well as bread & butter plates, but also for appetizers, tapas, cookies and desserts.
- Materials: Glass, Silver
- Dimension: 6.75 inches in Diameter
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. There are some surface scratches in the center, very light wear on the silver in some plates, all acceptable due to age/use/wear. Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
