  • Pattern: Vintage Brown Medicine Bottle, Man with the Big Fish, Cod Liver Oil Collectible Bottle, Fisherman with Big Fish, (Discontinued)
  • Made in Toledo, OH, USA
  • Vintage: 1947
  • Details:  This is such a fun collectible bottle!!  A very neat old amber glass medicine bottle originally sold with cod liver oil. It has a super nice raised image (Debossed Image) of a fisherman carrying a very large fish on his back.  This cod liver oil was sold by The Scott and Bowne Company as "Scott's Emulsion".   A very aggressive advertising campaign, of this fisherman image, helped to make Scotts Emulsion one of the best selling medicines of the late 19th and early 20th century.  The bottom is embossed with the Owen Illinois mark: the O inside an Oval inside a Diamond, circa 1930's.  Shows it was made in 1947, in the Toledo, Ohio plant (We see a 7 with dot and a 1 on the bottom of the logo, please review pictures and make your own determination as to date and mfg plant).  This is a great bottle for display in a beach house, a great gift for a fisherman or a bottle collector.
