- Made in Italy
- Vintage: 1950's - 1960's
- Details: This is a wonderful teapot imported from Italy! It is a gorgeous piece, bright tomato red, ceramic. It holds a very large capacity, 64 oz, perfect for a large party. The white mark visible on the inside of the lid is not a chip, it's raw ceramic, no color, was left unglazed, a manufacturing error. There is no internal filter on spout. It is marked on the bottom: Italy 66473 with the letters "PV" within a circle. The PV mark in a circle means this piece is from "Peasant Village", and it belongs to Mittledorfer-Strauss, an importer based in New York from about 1928 to the 1960's. They imported pottery from several countries Italy, France, Czechoslovakia and the U.S. This one is clearly marked by hand "Italy". It is said that most Italian potters mark the date on the bottom of their wares, looking at these numbers, 66473 this could potentially be dated: 1966, or 1964 or 1973, your guess is as good as ours. If you're looking for a great piece of pottery to use or display, this one is a great choice. Ideal as kitchen decor, and as a gift for a teapot collector. Perfect for your next tea party, very large capacity!
