Details: A wonderful old rolling pin, hand carved with 12 different images and ready to add to your collection! This style is known as a Springerle, a tradition that goes back to 14th Century Germany, used to make German cookies with embossed designs and flavored with anise or lemon. This one has wonderful patina with 12 different shapes like: a duck, butterfly, fish, owl, leaves, birds and other random shapes, perfect for Spring and Easter time. This one is not marked but owner stated it was hand carved in West Germany. These are still sold today, but machine carved. A great gift for your favorite baker or rolling pin collector!
