- Details: This is a very pretty pattern called "Mayfair" from Cosmopolitan Dinnerware. It consists of a center floral design with several large pink roses, a large white rose, surrounded by a purple, violet and yellow smaller flowers and green leaves. It has a gorgeous 22 karat gold filigree border. The plate color is not bright white, it has a subtle cream tone to it. These are a little smaller than a traditional dinner plate, most likely sold as Luncheon Plates, but could be used for Dinner or a large salad plate, as well. They are stamped on the back: "Cosmopolitan Dinnerware, 22K. Gold Mayfair U.S.A". Hand Wash is recommended to maintain design. These are very old and have some Condition issues, please see "Condition" below. We think the manufacturer may be Edwin Knowles, if anyone has any definite information, we'd love to hear more.

- Condition: Vintage - Used. Good Vintage Condition. These plates are over 80 years old however, they are still beautiful for those who appreciate well loved items. There is crazing on all the plates, some have stains, 2 have small chips on the border and there are surface scratches in the center design as acceptable due to age/use/wear. The gold filigree is actually in pretty good condition. If you like the patina of old age, as we do, or you love the shabby-chic/distressed look, then you will be very happy with these plates.
