- Details: This Presidential collectible fob is from the Democratic Presidential Inauguration of our 39th President, Jimmy Carter. Dated January 20th, 1977. It's highly detailed with the likeness of James Earl Carter Jr, (affectionally called Jimmy), in the center and USA Flag behind him. These were commissioned by AAA Novelty in Washington D.C., made in Taiwan, and sold in novelty stores. This item is made of a heavy metal, imitation pewter color, and it's never been used, still in the original packaging. Fobs have been used since the early 1900's, traditionally evolved to describe the decorative ornament attached to the end of a pocket watch chain. Fobs became increasingly popular in the political world, issued with portraits of political candidates or just their names. Today, a fob can still be used with a pocket watch, but now it refers to any decorative pendant worn on a chain, even if not attached to a watch. Unique and historical accessory for your collection.
