- Antique Can Label, Broadway Brand Tomatoes Can Label, Vintage Can Label, Broadway Stone Lithograph. Collectible Labels NOS
- Made in St. Louis, MO, USA
- Antique: 1925 - 1926
- Details: This is such a beautiful label for Broadway Brand Tomatoes! The work that went into that view of Broadway in New York City must have taken months! As beautiful and red and juicy as the tomato looks on this label, it's really all about the Broadway image. The majestic skyscrapers of the day, the old fashioned cars, how many of these buildings are still there, and how many are recognizable? The attention to detail is amazing considering there were no computer graphics back then, it would take a craftsman 3 to 4 months to make the plates to produce a label like this. It is a stone lithograph image. It reads: Tibbitts-Hewitt Grocery Co., Distributors, St. Louis, MO." This label is old factory stock acquired from a long time label dealer on the west coast. It's rare to run into can labels this old, in this condition, definitely suitable for framing, and recommended to maintain condition. Collecting labels has become a very popular hobby, mainly because of the beautiful and unique images/artwork that can be found. If this is your hobby, we have lots more labels available, please feel free to browse.
