Churchill Downs is a thoroughbred horse racetrack, located on Central Avenue in south Louisville, Kentucky.  It hosts the world famous Kentucky Derby race every year. The race track officially opened in 1875, and held the first Kentucky Derby and the first Kentucky Oaks in the same year.

Harry M. Stevens Inc was the oldest concession business in the U.S. and had been making these glasses since 1875 until December 1994 when Aramark bought them.  Stevens was a family owned company for over five generations, they had serviced accounts such as:  Giants Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Churchill Downs, Houston Astrodome, Madison Square Garden in New York City, Candlestick Park in San Francisco and Fenway Park in Boston.  This is one of the last few glasses made by the historic Stevens company.
