  • Vintage Cigar Box, Antonio Y Cleopatra  Cigars, Original, Gilded Label, Vintage Collectibles, Mark Antony & Cleopatra
  • Made in Dominican Republic
  • Vintage:  1970's - 1980's
  • Details:  This box of Antonio Y Cleopatra Grenadier cigars is simple on the outside, a coin with Antonio and Cleopatra's profiles and tobacco leaves below.  When the box is opened, you find a gorgeous, heavily embossed and gilded label, with a very detailed scene of Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra.  She's  laying on a very regal looking chair and he's standing by her side.  The box is marked on the bottom: "American Cigar, A Division of American Brands Inc., New York, NY 10167".  This helps us date the box somewhere between 1970 - 1980, perhaps early 1990's, since American Cigar sold their tobacco operations in 1994.  This is a great collector's item for a cigar aficionado or collector.  In the family room it makes a nice storage piece for remote controls, note pads and pens.  Great for corralling small items, we use our cigar boxes to store playing card decks and games like UNO, Old Mail and Jacks.  In the bar it can store bottle openers, wine stoppers, coasters, etc.
  • Material: Heavy Cardboard
  • Dimensions:  6.75 inches Long, 6.5 inches Wide and 2.0 inches Tall
  • Condition:   Vintage - Used.  Very Good Condition.  There is a piece of tape on the top, not sure why it's there.  There are very minor surface scratches.  Otherwise, all labels are in good condition, box is very clean inside and out, no age spots or discoloration, pictures show you all 4 sides.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

Antonio Y Cleopatra Grenadiers originated in Cuba in 1879, (some say 1888).  They're now made in Puerto Rico, they're blended with Cuban seed tobacco. American Brands Inc. was originally started as "The American Tobacco Company" by J.B. Duke in 1890.  The American Tobacco Company restructured itself in 1969, forming a holding company called American Brands, Inc.  American Brands acquired a variety of non-tobacco businesses during the 1970s and 1980s and sold its tobacco operations to Brown & Williamson in 1994. American Brands subsequently renamed itself "Fortune Brands".
