Condition: Antique - Used. Fair Antique Condition, considering it's 127 years old. This is an EXTREMELY RARE book; it is part of the Happy Hours series by Lothrop Publishing starting in 1895 with "Sunny Days". This one, "Happy Hours", is the 4th book, added to series in 1899. This book contains a treasury of children's stories, nursery rhymes, poems and more. It has many black & white engraved illustrations and one large color illustration on the frontispiece. The front board has a wonderful color illustration with gilding, or what is known as "Illuminated". The cloth binding /spineback is fraying and it's become separated from the pages. There is LOTS of wear on the covers. Pages are very yellowed/tanning and there is an odor, but there's no mold or mildew. There is no writing, no torn pages or corners, (except on covers, already mentioned). We never want to crease the books by fully opening them, this is why you'll notice the pictures are not always straight. This one was particularly fragile and we're not experts on handling antique books so we didn't want to flatten it.
