- Pattern: Vintage Bookends, Old Couple, Grandma Knitting & Grandpa Reading, Hand Painted Hobbyist Mold, Ceramic Mould / Mold, One of a Kind, Office Decor, Gifts for Retirees, Geriatrician Gifts, Grandparents Gifts, (Discontinued)
- Made in USA
- Vintage: 1974
- Details: This is a great pair of bookends with an old couple, we're calling Grandma & Grandpa, sitting on their chairs. These are whimsical and unique, one of a kind pieces from a hobbyist mold. Grandma is knitting and grandpa reading, they both wear glasses, wearing blue denim outfits, her with a shawl, his with a vest. The colors are soft, and the level of detail is wonderful. Signed and dated by the artist who painted them. There is felt on the bottom of each to protect your furniture. A word of caution, these are VERY heavy, the shipping will be high, but totally worth it for this unique pair! Great as a gift, for a study, library, office or for your favorite geriatrician! Hey, Grandparent's Day is in September!!
- Material: Ceramic
- Dimensions: Both are approx. 10.0 inches Tall and 4.0 inches Wide (at the widest point)
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Excellent Condition. There are no chips, scratches or faded colors on either of these pieces. The felt on the bottom is a bit worn. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns. Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
We believe these Hobbyist Molds were made in a little shop called the Nifty Nook in West Plains, MO, (later became Studio 160 Ceramics), we give credit to Carol, the Nifty Nook's owner, she created these molds. Clients would use her molds to make these, and many other items, and then paint and fire them right in the store's kiln.
