Details: This ashtray needs no introduction, it is the timeless pattern from Wedgwood called Jasperware. Jasperware was made in several colors including Cobalt Blue, Lavender, Green and perhaps others, this powdery blue is the most popular with collectors. The ashtray border is decorated with grape vines & grape clusters and there are three Neoclassical Greek Mythology figures in the center. Never put these in the dishwasher, hand wash only. This cigarette ashtray has 1 indentation, meant for one person's use. This piece is part of a collection of four ashtrays, each shaped like a different playing card suit: Heart, Spade, Club and Diamond. They were made in the 1960's, a time when cigarette smoking was considered elegant and would have been very appropriate to provide each player their own ashtray while at a game table. Stamped on the bottom: "Wedgwood, Made in England". There are also letters and numbers stamped on the clay, look like "'64" and "DB". Condition: Vintage-Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. There are no chips or scratches on this piece. However, there is some glue residue on the white cameos, as well as some light stains, not sure if they will come out with a good cleaning. Looks like there where felt pads attached to the back originally, they can easily be replaced. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.
