  • Pattern:  Vintage Advertisement, Kentucky Derby Museum, Very Rare Early Announcement.
  • Made in USA
  • Vintage:  1962
  • Details:  This is a wonderful advertisement for plans to open a derby museum for all racing mementos at Churchill Downs.  This is a very rare advertisement, we have not found another like it.  The ad is from 1962, it wasn't until 1978 that the Churchill Downs leadership disclosed the plans for the non-profit Kentucky Derby Museum funded by the J. Graham Brown Foundation.  The actual model of the proposed $7 million facility was not unveiled until 1983 and it was finally opened to the public on April 28, 1985.  A real piece of horse racing history!  This is a full page, full color ad from 1962, an original page from a magazine, not a print or reproduction, the paper has age toning (yellowed with time).  Perfect for your next Kentucky Derby party!
  • Materials:  Paper
  • Dimensions:   12.5 x 10.75 inches
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Very Good Vintage Condition.  This is an original page from a magazine, the paper has age toning (yellowed over time). The yellowing may be slightly darker than it shows on pictures, due to lighting.  Except for the toning, there are no issues with this item.  This is a used item, over 60 years old, there may be slight imperfections including slight discoloration and micro tears.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
