- Details: Truly one of a kind quality, Chippewa Brand, 14 1/2 ounce Evaporated Milk label, Guaranteed Genuine/Original. One of the nicest American Indian labels you'll ever see and getting harder to find, especially in this condition. The colors on the American Indian headdress are beautifully colored and the attention to detail is amazing considering there were no computer graphics back then. It would take a craftsman 3 to 4 months to make the plates to produce a label like this. It is a brightly colored stone lithograph image of an American Indian Chief. There are arrows with fine detail and two pairs of moccasins also with amazing detail and color. The printer's mark dates it to 1931. They are marked "Sault Wholesale Grocers Sault St. Marie, Mich". It's rare to run into can labels of this kind of quality and condition, definitely suitable for framing, and recommended to maintain this condition. Collecting labels has become a very popular hobby, mainly because of the many beautiful and unique images/artwork that can be found.
