  • Pattern: Bride and Groom Ceramic Trivet, Vintage Audrey Burchell, RARE
  • Vintage: 1930's - 1940's
  • Details:  What a lovely wedding image on this trivet!  It features a vintage Bride and Groom in their wedding finest, and it is signed by Audrey Burchell.  This is a very old and very rare trivet, Audrey was a talented artist who worked at the Delano Studio, she did beautiful watercolor paintings, (more of her story below).  Delano Studios was well known for their decorations of fine china, tiles, glass and one of the first to introduce decorated cookware.  According to some, the studio was torn down in the late 1960's. The trivet is ceramic with a watercolor image painted by Audrey.  It has a cork backing, which is stamped with the Delano Studio logo, it's hard to see the intricate logo which includes a Crest, sailboat, plates and a house and some feathers (or trees) on the sides, and it reads: "Decorated by Delano Studios".  There's a high shine glaze on the ceramic to protect the image.  Would make a very special gift for a Bridal Shower or Wedding Anniversary gift.

Audrey Lenore Burchell was a talented artist who interrupted her art career to assist her family with the upbringing of her deceased brother's four children on the family farm at Artist Lake, Middle Island.  Audrey worked at the Delano Studios in East Setauket and became their Art Director. After 12 years with the firm, Audrey resigned to join her sister selling real estate with the firm J.C.-A.L. Burchell, Realtors, in East Patchogue. Audrey was a loving, gentle, generous person, she lived to be 101 and passed away on March 19, 2013.
