- Details: A very decorative serving dish with a figural shell shape. We believe these were originally sold with a glass insert and tiny spoon to serve caviar, today it would make a great salt cellar, butter pats dish, trinket dish or even for jewelry storage. Pretty on it's own as an coastal accent piece. These were originally made in England by several different manufacturers, F&J, Leonard Silver and others, this one is unmarked so we're unable to tell you much beyond the description. It has a hinged lid and a tiny opening for the spoon, although this one is missing the spoon. The scallop shell has been used in decor throughout time in furniture, architecture, art, servingware, advertisement, and home decor objects. Pretty Summer accent on a vanity or side table.

- Dimensions: Closed: Approx. 5.0 inches Long, 5.0 inches Wide, 2.0 inches Tall. 4.75 inches Wide Each "Shell"(opened): 4.5 inches Long, 4.75 inches Wide (at its widest point) and approx. 1.0 inch Deep
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Good Vintage Condition. There are several issues: missing the spoon plus the glass insert, (not sure if this one had a glass insert originally). There is wear, especially on the bottom piece, some yellowing which should come out with a good cleaning, but we make no guarantees. There is some spotting on the inside, all photographed for you. We have not cleaned this piece, it looks pretty shiny, however, this is not for those who love shiny, perfect looking silver. If you like the patina of older pieces as we do, no need for cleaning. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns. All sales final.
