  • Pattern:  Vintage Cronin China Co. Bread and Butter Plate, Fragonard Victorian Courting Couple Pattern, Brushed Gold
  • Made in Minerva, Ohio, USA
  • Vintage: circa 1940 - 1950
  • Details:  This is a great example of vintage Fragonard dinnerware, a Bread and Butter plate from The Cronin China Company (1934 - 1956).   The center has a Victorian Courting couple decal, known as Fragonard, and inspired by the works of artist Jean Honore Fragonard (1732-1806).  The lady has an orange and blue skirt with a gold blouse, the gentleman has an orange coat and gold pants.  The entire border has indentations, and a wonderful brushed gold rim!  There is a condition issue, please see below.  The backstamp reads: "The Cronin China Co, Minerva, Ohio".  The National Brotherhood Operative Potters seal in the center has a long history, it was used until 1950.  In 1951, the group changed their name to International Brotherhood of Operative Potters.  If this is your pattern, we hope this is a happy find.  Otherwise if you're looking for pretty plates to mix and match, or to decorate your walls, this is a beautiful option.
